for some darker sides to find.
Branded with a scarlet letter
from ‘the brow’ to ‘the bean’,
burned through all the outports,
left shoulder tattooed thirteen.
Drifting and smouldering,
ever since the ship went down.
But she’d be playing the Portuguese Waltz
on that concertina if she was here right now.
